About Dr. Burke
Dr. Burke is the founder and director of the Michigan Center for Cosmetic Surgery. He has a world wide professional reputation as a surgeon, educator and journal editor. He is on the clinical faculty of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. He strives to keep current in all aspects of cosmetic surgery through regular workshops, ongoing research, and scientific presentations. He is an examiner for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. His patients love his skills and the personal touch provided by him and his staff. Many of his patients have referred their family and friends.
Dr. Burke is a regular contributor to the medical scientific literature. His original scientific study on temperature changes and monitoring during laser assisted liposculpture has been accepted for publication and will appear in the March 2012 issue of the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery. He serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery section editor for the International Journal of Cosmetic Surgery. He has won the American Association of Orthodontics Award of Special Merit for his research. He regularly presents scientific papers at national cosmetic surgery meetings.
Dr. Burke completed a 7 year study of the teardrop shaped saline breast implant and presented his final results at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery annual scientific meeting in Orlando Florida. He also participated in the FDA pre approval study of cohesive gel silicone breast implants. He participates in several FDA post approval silicone breast implant studies.
Dr.Burke was recently appointed ”Miembro de Honor” of the Asociacion Argentina de Medicina y Cirugia Cosmetica.
Dr.Burke invited as "Honorary Lecturer of the 1st Annual Antalya Congress in Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine" in Antalya, Turkey.
The Meso American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (MSACS), has invited Dr.Burke to be an “Invited Professor” in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Dr. Burke was Elected Trustee of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery at the twenty fourth annual meeting in Orlando, Florida January, 2008.
